Mr. George Richard Humphrey

Age: 85

Northport Funeral & Cremation Service family extends our warmest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family of Mr. George R. Humphery. Mr. Humphrey passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2024 in Northport, AL.

Mr. Humphrey was born in Mt. Vernon, Illinois on September 3rd,1938 to Ray Humphrey and Alma Hayes Humphrey. He attended Mt. Vernon Township High School and Southern Illinois University and moved to Tuscaloosa Alabama, where he was always happy to be with his grandchildren and watching Alabama football games. He retired from working security at DCH twenty three years ago.

Mr. Humphrey was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Humphrey. 

He is survived by his daughter,  Elke May (Richard), his sons,  Mike Humphrey (Robin) and Mark Humphrey; his grandchildren Amber Hughes (Preston), Heather Gregory (Greg), Ranulf  Humphrey, Feadora Humphrey, Mishka Humphrey, and Corbin Humphrey; his great-grandchildren, Azlynn Florence, Ezra Wilson and Charlotte Hopkins and his special friends Betty Mallette and Jay Fair.

The family would like to express a huge thank you to the staff of Forest Manor Rehabilitation Pavilion and Journey Hospice for the tender care they provided to Mr. Humphrey during his stay and until his passing.

A private service will be held.
