Mr. James E. Posey

Age 83

The Northport Funeral & Cremation Service family extends our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. James Edward Posey Sr., who passed away on August 12, 2026, in Buhl, Alabama.

Services will be private.

Mr. Posey was preceded in death by his wife, Fairy Ann Posey, and his mother and father, Alvin Posey and Maggie Mae Benson-Posey. His survivors are his daughters, Vicki Hager (Roger) and Kristy Davis (Daniel). He is also survived by his son, James Posey Jr. (Rachel), and grandchildren Dalton Hager, Rebeca Posey, Conner Savage (McKayla), Lauren Rowell (Edward), Aaron Posey, and Noelle Vance (Erik). Mr. Posey leaves behind his loyal best friend, Scooter.

James was a dedicated coal miner for 50 years. His last employer was Jim Walter Resources Blue Creek No. 5 mine in Brookwood. His work buddies knew him as "Sarge". After retirement, he was an active farmer and loved working with his honey bees.

Mr. Posey's Honorary Pallbearers are Katie Davis, Derrick Davis, Renee Cottingham, Chris and Karen Homan, and Mike Dobbins. 

The compassionate, sympathetic, and professional services of the Northport Funeral & Cremation Service team have been entrusted with Mr. Posey's arrangements.
