Mr. Hoover passed on Thursday, February 15th, 2018 in Northport, AL. Dignified, compassionate, and professional care has been entrusted to Northport Funeral & Cremation Service Professional Team. Services will be as follows: 2 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Lakewood Baptist Church with Rev. Steve King and Danny Guyton officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Northport Funeral & Cremation Service directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Casual attire will be fine. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Peanut Hoover; and grandfather, Lewis Smith. Survivors include his spouse, Candi Gilliam Hoover, of Northport, Ala.; daughters, Mallory Hoover of Tuscaloosa and Taylor and Josie of Northport, Ala.; sons, Jaxon and Caleb of Northport, Ala.; sisters, Stephanie Humphries of Fayette, Ala.; brother, Jerry Johnson of Winfield, Ala.; and parents, Shelia Smith (Danny) and Jimmy Hamner (Janet); grandmother, Josephine Smith; and grandson, Bennett. Jimmy Hoover loved many and was loved by all. He was an adoring husband, dedicated father, faithful son, and loyal friend. Hoover will be dearly missed. Pallbearers will be Sam Delaney, Mike Young, Cody Lins, Danny Guyton, Matt Sauceman, Sport Brown, Kevin Stephens, Caleb Hodges, Jerry Johnson, Trent Hamner and Joey Burroughs. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Johnson, Matt Busbee, Tim Pippens, Jeremy Traweek, Daniel Delaney, Jed Parker and Joey Burroughs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakewood Baptist Church.
