Cathleen (Cathy) Sue Sorrell, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, passed away on August 19, 2026, in Tuscaloosa. She was 69 years old.

Cathleen was born on May 13, 1957. She was a deeply loved woman who brought warmth and joy to everyone who knew her. She was happily married to her beloved husband, Edward (Eddie) Eugene Sorrell, for forty-five years. Her family was the absolute center of her world.

Cathy was also known for her deep passion for education. She worked for approximately twenty-five years within the Tuscaloosa County School System, spending the majority of her career at Taylorville Elementary School as a physical education teacher. She spent her entire career completely devoted to the health, happiness, and growth of the children she taught.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Princess E. Miller, and her grandparents, Ora and Pearl Johnson, and Wade and Jennie Miller

Her memory will be forever cherished by her surviving family, including her spouse, Eddie Sorrell. She is also survived by her father, Wade S. Miller; her sons, Clinton Wade Sorrell and Jonathan Chase Sorrell; and her brother William Curtis Miller. Cathy’s loving legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Shalon Elizabeth Sorrell and Roxanne Grace Sorrell.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Northport Funeral and Cremation Service, located at 5404 Watermelon Road, Northport, Alabama 35473. Clergy Kenneth Dunivant will preside over the service.
