Kristy Lynn Weir-Traweek, age 40, of Berry, Alabama, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, at UAB Hospital with her family by her side. Kristy’s life was defined by her deep love for her family and by the joy she found in the everyday moments that made life meaningful. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Lacey “Pawpaw” Cannon, who taught her how to fish with patience and pride, and her grandmother, Estelle “Granny” Weir, whose warmth and guidance shaped her life in countless ways. Kristy leaves behind her husband, Kevin Traweek; her daughter, Isabelle Marlowe; her son, Herschel Traweek; and her stepchildren, Kalie and Bubba Traweek. She is also survived by her parents, Bob and Donna Weir; her grandmother, Louise “Granny” Cannon; her sister, Amanda Koby; her brother-in-law, Justin Koby; and her cherished niece and nephew, Aurora and Quinn Koby. She is remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved her deeply and hold treasured memories of her kindness, her stubbornness, and her unwavering loyalty. Kristy loved to fish and found peace in the quiet moments by the water. She also loved to deer hunt, enjoying the stillness of the woods and the time spent outdoors. She adored the children on her bus route, caring for them with the same affection she gave her own. She was endlessly proud of Isabelle’s passion for theatre and never missed a chance to watch her shine on stage. She loved cheering for Herschel on the baseball field, celebrating every hit, catch, and victory with a smile that lit up the stands.

A celebration of Kristy’s life will be held at Davis Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, located at 3121 Hwy 13 S, Berry, AL 35546, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation to follow.  Service will be led by Brother Lynell Early. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established to support her children. Her spirit will live on in her children and in all those who knew and loved her.
