Northport Funeral & Cremation Service family extends our warmest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family of Ms. Dixie Laurene Sugg.

Dixie Lourene Zeigra Sugg, age 73, died on February 9, 2020 in Tuscaloosa, AL surrounded by family and her best friend/caregiver Kathy Cook. Born in Gary, Indiana on June 24, 1946, Dixie was an independent hardworking woman who found her greatest joy in dancing and providing for her loved ones. She loved Jesus, her family, her dog Daisy May, but most of all she loved her six grandchildren or ‘grandbabies’ as she would call them.

She leaves her sister, Patricia Raymer; her son, David Hodgens and wife Tanya; her nieces, Debbie Sales and Christine Zeigra-Edwards; her grandbabies, Michael Sainz, Leilani Hodgens, Kalena Hodgens, Joshua Hodgens, Dustin Brubeck, Tianna Brubeck; special nephew, Jamison McMullen; step-children, Esther Zolman, Andrew Sugg, Jenny Cooper, Jeanette Mitchum; and her dog, Daisy May. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dixie Louise Zeigra; brother, Chuck Zeigra; and husband, Harry Sugg.

As a believer in Jesus Christ, Dixie is now celebrating in heaven and living an eternal life. A celebration of life service will be held with the immediate family at a later time. In lieu of flowers please donate in her honor to Pittsboro United Methodist Church, 71 West St., Pittsboro, NC 27312 where she was a long-time member.

Compassionate, sympathetic, and professional service has been entrusted to the hands and care of the Northport Funeral & Cremation Service Professional Team.
