Gayle Toler Fleming, passed away on March 5, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Graveside service will be held by Northport Funeral and Cremation Service at Sunset Funeral Home on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 11:00 am with Rev. John Vaughan and Dr. John Hinton officiating.

Gayle is survived by her daughter-in-law Stacy Walker Perry, grandchildren, Matthew Wolfenbarger (Katie), Ashley Perry, two grandchildren, Erabella and Bo Harrison Wolfenbarger, her sister Sandra Toler Boswell (Harley), brother Henry Rexford “Buddy” Toler (Brenda), nieces and nephews, Susan Combs, Brian Boswell (Carolyn), Kimberly Gatewood (Wendell), Amy Moore (Jeff), Ann Patterson (Sonny), great nieces and nephews, Harley Combs, Johnathan Combs, Adam Combs, Kristen McCall, Joshua Gatewood, Hannah Patterson Kaylin Patterson, Chris Wilkins, Crystal Woods, and Jeremy Moore.

Gayle was predeceased by her parents, Otis Rexford Toler and Lois Irene Johnston Toler, her sons, Jaye Douglas Perry and Joe Damon Perry.

Gayle loved our Lord and Savior, was a strong Christian and she truly lived by her faith.  She was a Sunday School Teacher at Northport Baptist Church, sang in the Choir and she knew her bible from cover to cover. She spent her days researching and preparing her Sunday School lessons.  

Gayle was an avid reader and would sometimes read four and five books at one time.  She thoroughly researched all political candidates and shared her information with anyone who asked.  Gayle appreciated and collected historical pieces of furniture which are seen throughout her house.  She loved to follow the lives of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her sister and brother’s families.  She was a retiree of DCH Hospital having over 30 years of employment.

Pallbearers will be Henry Rexford Toler, Harley Boswell, Matthew Wolfenbarger, and Larry Miles.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Pastors, Staff and Congregation at Northport Baptist Church, her Adult Singles Sunday School class, all of her special neighbor friends on 38th Avenue Way,  Dr. Deborah Davis, Dr. Susan Bostick, all doctors and staff of Lewis and Faye Mandelson Cancer Center, DCH Intensive Care Unit (especially Nurse Donna), Hospice of West Alabama, and Mark L. Byars & Associates.

Compassionate, sympathetic, and professional service has been entrusted to the hands and care of the Northport Funeral & Cremation Service Professional Team.
