Mrs. Georgette V. Jackson (Pruitt) October 25, 1954 — May 22, 2026

Georgette V. Jackson (Pruitt), 71, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, peacefully entered eternal rest on May 22, 2026, in Georgia, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family. 

Georgette was born on October 25, 1954, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her husband, Curry J. Pruitt, her father George W. Jackson, and her mother, Vernice Prewitt Jackson. 

Georgette married the love of her life, Curry J. Pruitt, a devoted husband, around whom they always centered their life, love, faith, and family. Raising their two children, her greatest pride and joy: Deronza A Pruitt and Curette B Pruitt (Gonzalez). Georgette’s heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren, who brought endless happiness to her life. Charonza (Dru) Pruitt, Charonzo (Dre) Pruitt, Ziona Princess Pruitt, Jayden Makeda Brown, Marlena Marie Gonzalez, Kori Brown. 

She leaves to cherish her memory five loving siblings: two brothers, Geoffrey G. Jackson of Sugar Land, Texas, and George G. (Cynthia) Jackson of Lithonia, Georgia; and three sisters, Geonice V. (Donald) Hanchett of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Georita V. Griffin, and Georanda V. (Arnsey Earl) Richardson, both of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. 

She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will continue to honor her legacy of love, compassion, and devotion to family. 

The memorial service for Mrs. Pruitt will be held Saturday, June 13th, 2026, at Friendship Baptist Church, located at 3416 8th Street, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401, from 11:00am - 12:00pm.
