Ms. Iola Coleman

Northport Funeral & Cremation Service family extends our warmest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family of Ms. Iola Coleman. Ms. Coleman passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023, in Northport, AL.

Ms. Iola Coleman was born on June 24, 1937, in Ralph, AL to her parents, Sam and Viola Bishop. She received Christ at an early age. Iola graduated from Dry Creek High School in 1954, received her Cosmetology diploma from Shelton State Technical College in 1971, as well as several certificates and acknowledgements through-out her career. She made her transition from this life to eternity on Monday, May 1, 2023. Iola was loved by many throughout the community, including her neighbors at Presbyterian Apartments. Preceding her in death are her parents and a special cousin and friend, Jessie Mae McShan. She leaves to cherish a special cousin, Ms. Ella Ivy; two special friends, Latasha Gardner and Jennifer Smith; and a host of cousins and friends.        

Funeral service for Ms. Coleman will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023, 11:00a.m. in the Northport Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel in Northport, Al. Ms. Coleman will lie in state one hour prior to service.

Interment will follow at Cedar Oaks Memorial Park. Compassionate, sympathetic, and professional service has been entrusted to the hands and care of the Northport Funeral & Cremation Service Professional Team. 

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all attendees of services and visitations are required to wear a mask and attempt to maintain 6ft social distancing.
