Northport Funeral & Cremation Service family extends our warmest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family of Ms. Lasonja Rena Cox. Ms. Cox passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025, in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Ms. Cox is preceded by her parents, William "Bill" Merriweather and Catherine Latham, grandparent William Temple and her nephew Malik Merriweather. Her Grandparents, Houston & Valeria Wallace and Bill Merriweather Sr. and Mae Lou Temple.

Ms. Cox leaves behind daughters, Terrika (Clifton) Cox-Edwards and Courtney Cox, Her sisters, Daphne Sturdivant, Yolanda Merriweather, Pamela Merriweather, Denise Merriweather, Tammy Spain and Amy Spain. Her Brother, Bryan Merriweather. Grandchildren, Zerrika & Na'Jee Barnes and Courtland Cox.

Visitation for Ms. Cox will be at Northport Funeral and Cremation Service in Reform, AL. on July 17th, 2025, from 1:00-4:00 PM. The Service will be at Pickens County Highschool on July 18, 2025 at 1:30 pm. Ms. Cox will lie in state 1 hour prior. Burial will follow the service at New Providence Baptist Cemetery.
