Ms. Melba Marchant

Melba Louise Marchant (Morrison) unexpectedly passed away at her home in Coaling, Alabama on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the age of 69. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at Coaling Baptist Church, (11209 Hagler Coaling Road), on Friday, May 26 at 1 pm, officiated by Todd Burkhalter.

Melba was a lifelong resident of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, having attended Holt High School and Shelton State Community College, and proudly serving as a Nurse at DCH until her retirement. When she was not providing compassionate patient care, Melba enjoyed animal rescue, drawing, painting, baking, gardening, rock collecting and plant identification, and spending time with her friends and family.

Predeceased by her parents, Melvin and Elizabeth Morrison, and siblings Kenneth Morrison and Melissa DeVaughn, Melba is survived by her loving husband, Ryburn Michael Marchant.  She is also survived by two daughters, Kristy Thomas (Donnie) and Amanda Henderson (Christian), five grandchildren, Christopher Thomas (Dorothy), Joeseph Thomas (Michelle), Elizabeth Plowman (Tony), Alexis Iacoboni (Jack), and Sarah Lenhart, and 7 great-grandchildren. Melba is also survived by two siblings: Terry Morrison and Mary Mason.
