Ms. Peggy Allen

Northport Funeral & Cremation Service family extends our warmest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family of Ms. Peggy Allen. Peggy Brisson Allen, age 85, of Tuscaloosa, Al passed away on January 24,2023 at Hospice of West, Al in Tuscaloosa, Al. Ms. Allen was born on May 14, 1937, in Lumberton, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Leon & Ruby Brisson. She was a strong advocate for her special needs daughter, Tammy. She played a role in establishing the Association of Retarded Citizens in her hometown of Lumberton, North Carolina. Ms. Allen remained a warrior for her special girl, Tammy, till Tammy's death. She was president of the PTA at Janie C. Hargrave Elementary School in the mid-sixties. While working full time and getting her kids where they needed to be and running the household, she still was able to be a devoted member to her community. She retired from First National Bank of Tuscaloosa, Al.  Ms. Allen was a mighty force to be reckoned with.

Ms. Allen is preceded in death by her parents, Leon & Ruby Brisson, her husband, Neil Allen; her sisters, Frances Brisson and Margie Prevatte; her brothers, Zane Harvey and Sprig Brisson, as well as her precious daughter Tammy Renee Usher.

Ms. Allen is survived by her sister, Mary Alice Harrell of Matthews, NC. Her daughter; Frances U. Jackson, Son; Howard G. Usher (Judi), daughter; Judith U. Thomas (Michael), grandchildren; Tao Rufe, Dylan Rufe, April T. Weatherford (Paul), Howard G. Usher, Jr. Also great grandchildren Michael C. Weatherford and Anna R. Weatherford. A treasure of cousins, nieces, and nephews, especially Charlie.
