Northport Funeral & Cremation Service family extends our warmest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family of Ms. Shelia Hammett. Ms. Hammett passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 in Tuscaloosa, AL. 

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 2:00 at Boone Cemetery in Samantha, AL. with Rev. Linda Pongerayter officiating.

Ms. Hammett was preceded in death by her parents, David and Mary Katherine Sims, and her son Wayne Hammett.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Hammett and her daughter Sabrina (Keith) Poe. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jordan (Cody) Poe, David Hammett, Shaina Hammett, and her great-grand children Nevaeh Poe, Sadie Poe, and Brody Poe.

Ms. Hammett worked for 27 years as a bus driver for the Tuscaloosa County Schools.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grand mother who loved her great grand children.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Sims, Joey Poe, Joseph Lee, Cody Poe, Keith Poe and Brock Rester.
